Replacing emptiness with Art.
Four paintings on found plywood inserted into empty holes in the alley between Stamford street and Shrewsbury street, Old Trafford.
Everyday I notice empty spaces where something has once been but is now no longer. I have an in build desire to fill these spaces with Art inspired by the surroundings.
Through ‘Alley sign’ I have filled four holes in the wall about the size of a brick, where metal signs detailing house numbers have once been, with drawings and paintings of the alleyways, encouraging passers by to look at their familiar surroundings in a new way.
Art from the everyday, art in the everyday and art for the everyday.
